Why does everyone like Lake Como so much when Lake Garda is so pretty?

Lago Como gets the press coverage, especially abroad,  due to the celebrities. This attracts tourists who don't realize how much more convenient Lago Garda is when they want to go on to Venezia.

Both are beautiful places. I particularly like Malcesine & Limone on the north end of the lake, but spend more time on the south end of the lake in Sirmione, Bardolino, Garda and Desenzano since I live so close.

Garda is so much bigger and has so much more to offer than Como... and the Comaschi (people from como) are a bunch of yahoos.

Garda is 370 Km² - Italy's largers lake and 2nd place is Lago Maggiore (212 Km²). It's a common mistake in Italy to say that Maggiore is bigger (because of its name).

Garda Lake is really pretty, but Como Lake is so romantic and charming, with the wooded steep mountains and the little villages as Moltrasio, Lenno, Varenna, ...

Bellagio is wonderful but a little too touristy.

The only problem is that it's impossible to find a park for the car, but maybe it's because of this that it's never crowded and the villages seems timless.
