Its written horribly, has no depth, and the main girl Bella is way too attatched to Edwards looks- it practically preaches superficiality

  1. my sis and me were like omg i cant wait to read this, and then we read it and were like bella is and idiot, and this book SUCKS, so i totally agree with you, but people say its like harry potter (which i dont understand and i am the BIGGEST harry potter fan in the world!) and maybe they just miss harry too much and need a book to fill that hole in there heart?

  2. I have actually never been more in love with a book or book characters. its weird... everyone at my school is like obsessed and its like a drug. people cannot put it down (me being one of those people)

i guess it would be different for different people but nearly everyone of my reads that have read it loved it! so maybe its just not really the book for you :)

  3. 3 REASONS:

    1> books are addictive

2> good story               ----loving a vampire!!!!

    3> great characters

  4. People just love fantasy stories (especially when it's vampires) because it makes it seem possible. Things like Twilight make the reader feel a part of the story and that's why they love it.

Oh and I think that since most people are superficial, then they would completely agree with the character and not even notice the flaws.

  5. Yeah , I know!

It's gets hype for absolutely nothing. It's crazy overrated!

People who like this book , obviously haven't read anything but Twilight in their lives.

On top of that, this series are poorly written! The characters are so Mary Sue ,that  it makes you feel nauseating .

And what Bella feels for Edward is anything but love. I mean , you can't love somebody , just because he's hot and good looking.

Their relationship is unrealistic. They what? Had one conversation , and suddenly , they're falling in love with each other. Please!!!

That's not love. The author doesn't know what's real love.

This book is influencing badly  on the young readers.

And it isn't worth to be called literature.

    xx Greetings

  6. h**l yes, someone with brain. I think is because they don't read much "ITS TH BAST BUK EVA!1", the girls can "think" or "imagine" that they're Bella. The books sucks but they don't wanna see it because "EDWARD IS HWAT", It's like safe s*x p**n for horney teens, I mean they aren't even vampires, they are fairies with bloodlust, fangless, sparkling fairies. The characters are flat, no plot, purple prose, Mary Sue and Gary Stu and it's worse in the third book. And YES I read the books and YES I'm a teen (16 year old) and YES the book still sucks. It's like read a fanfiction of Quizilla, I even can name a fanfiction, a AU ONE SHOT fanfiction of Bleach that is better writing than Twilight.

  7. i don't know honestly but im hooked. Though i do admit Bella is too obessed but i love her books anyway

  8. People like it because it's simplistic, requires little to no thought to truly understand, is cutesy and addictive and has characters who they can fantasize about.  Personally, I am not a fan of the books for many reasons, including that it preaches superficiality, the characters are bland and it is written badly.  I respect that some people like it but I do not.  Stephenie Meyer isn't even being original in her plot lines, and that bothers me the most.

  9. OMG thank you. That's the point I have been trying to make.

Personally I think it is pretty sick. Everyone is supposed to fall for him, that's what is SUPPOSED to happen with his vampire charm; it isn't that they have something special. And it isn't that HE doesn't know what SHE is thinking. It is that nobody can penetrate her. I only read it for Jacob. Bella pissed me off in Breaking Dawn and I ended up regretting reading it. Which I am extremely sad about because that is never a good feeling, I wish I hadn't felt that way.

    Anyways, I agree with you.

But I do think she had good character development..

  10. Your wrong its written perfectly and its an amazing story that why sooo many people Love it.

  11. People like Twilight because it's a fairy tale with a high amount of romance and because they think Bella and Edward are "teh cutest coupple evaaaaz."

  12. have you read it? because if you have i honestly don't understand how you aren't totally obsessed with it.

i think it has to be the best book i've ever read.

  13. prolly because edward is a vampire and teens who seem to like twilight go for the "emo" stereotype, complete with obssession with gore, and things like vampires, so they liked it just because it (may) be the first vampire-teen-romance book

  14. I really don't know why I like it so much.

Maybe there's subliminal messages in it.

I'm not obessed though, I like other books.

EDIT: And to the person below me, don't be so stereotypical.

I read other books, I also like books more then I like Twilight.

  15. I agree. It's a fun story sure but it is appalling written- Meyer appears to be under the impression that she is a good author because she has read an Austen book or two. Um, no...

A lovely name is wasted on a soggy Weetabix who clings to her effeminate vampy boy toy with no personality apart from wanting to bite her, which she of course finds terribly romantic.

Neither Edward or Bella have any hormonal crushes on anyone else- they're not people. Is Bella not slightly worried that Edward doesn't look at other girls?...

  16. read it again you'll see a lot more

    OR

go to SM's website and read it from edward's perspective

i agree she seems shallow but when someone is that ridiculously gorgeous what else is she supposed to write about?

  17. yer sometimes some of the characters can become irritable but seriously alice makes me laugh out loud specially (SPOILER::) when alice is like "Bella dont you love me? I thought we were close, I always thought you loved me but....you havent asked me to organise your wedding" LOL loved that bit...

most of the books dont have much plot, but theyre still very good... the plot is there, but theres just too much sub-plots and junk clouding it lol

    TEAM EDWARD!!!!

  18. I quite enjoyed the books, though I don't think I'd ever want to read them again.

I liked the first one best, I found Bella quite endearing with her clumsiness and her lack of interest in clothes (I feel about clothes much as she does). I got a bit tired of her as the series went on though, her endless drooling over Edward got on my nerves, and she was even less interesting once she became a vampire, perfection is not interesting.

  19. I personally find it captivating. But I must admit, this whole is obsession has gone too far. Especially when one answerer said it was the best book ever written. Obviously they don't read much.

Also, much of what Meyers wrote about vampires is made up, disappointing me for people are ignoring the original vampires and other vampire facts saying what Meyers says is the truth. (In mythology, there is always several truths, so many different versions of things differing by countries!) And there has been too much vampire in the media lately. They are very interesting, but lets give some other creatures the spotlight! (i.e. the nixes)
