Why does everyone say chi is so great?

like everyone on here does. so i ordered the $85 one and i mean its ok but it doesnt even really get my hair that straight i mean the ends still curl in kinda which sucks for me cuz i have extensions and when my real hair curls in and then the extensions go further down you can tell its fake. also it doesnt even reduce the puffiness that much. i mean from what i've heard i expected pin straight sleek hair but that's not what i got. is it because the one i bought only cost $85 and was too cheap. or what? and i know im not straightening my hair wrong because it worked with my last one but after awhile that one broke, so i bought the chi. its not really all that great though...

I agree... Chi isn't that great. The irons don't get hot enough and they don't hold heat very well. Plus, they tend to c**p out pretty quickly. I have a Paul Brown and LOVE it; adjustable temperature, it gets super hot fast and it leaves your hair really smooth. Ghd and Sedu are pretty good too.

Personally, I dont/wouldnt use anything but the CHI iron/curling iron/products!! I love their brand. For the flat iron, are you quickly running it through or are you slowly sliding across your hair? It tends to work a thousand times better if you take your time and do it.

Second, straighten it layer by layer. I know it sounds like tons more work but it works a lot better and produces AMAZING results!!

Third, put some product on your hair before you straighten. i suggest biosilk silk therapy or biosilk shine on -- produces great shin.

Some people think it's great just because it's a Chi. It's the hot item right now, just like every other fad that comes and goes. There are different categories of Chi, but there are other straighteners that work as well for half the cost. Does the one you bought have a temperature control? That's one of the most important things on a straightener. So, maybe yours doesn't get hot enough. What you should do is go to different websites that carry the Chi that you have. Look at the reviews of your model vs other models. Also, check out the reviews on other brands. This will help you make an informed decision if you need to purchase another one.
