Why does everyone say that Atlanta was the worst Olympics ever?

1.  Eric Rudolph bombed the area and killed and severely wounded others.  Ironically enough, he was captured 45 minutes away from my house in NC, and he had been living there for 2 years at least...um scary.

2.  Atlanta is already a cramped cramped city.  They really had no room in the city to host the Olympics, but they tried to make it work.  Although I have rowed at Lake Lanier (back when it wasn't just a mudhole...stupid drought), and those facilities were nice.  But seriously, the Atlanta Braves were playing a stone's throw away from the Olympics...combine the Braves traffic with the Olympics traffic and you have one big mess.  And I thought the Final Four traffic was horrendous...

3.  The opening ceremony wasn't that impressive, and the American media tried everything they could to make the Atlanta Olympics look like they were impressive.  Not.

4.  That mascot!!!  Who picked that mascot??  I wanted to light that thing on fire.

Although Centennial Park is now pretty awesome to hang out at.

Well, there was the bombing, that really weird opening ceremony, the over commercialisation, the bombing, the cramped athlete village, the alleged bribery, and did I mention the bombing?

Because my dad had the worst migraine of his life and had to be carried out on a stretcher, so that the reporters thought that he was a bomb victim.

That's my reason.

Really bad traffic. Poor venues. Too much sponsoring. Not very friendly to visitors.
