  1. rats can get very lonely and need to socialise all the time..

  2. because they get really lonely if u get uninterested in them after a while even rats get lonely

  3. Rats will still bond with you if they have a companion.  I've noticed no difference in interacting with me between having one rat, two or even three.

Rats are very social and people simply don't make very good rats.  No matter how much time you spend with your rat you won't be there 24 hours a day.  Two rats will play together, groom each other, and sleep in an adorable ratty pile.  Once you see two rats together you will never think that a lone rat is a fair life.

  4. Rats need company from another rat. Unless you are a rat you can't replace that. They can still bond with you. I had four rats and they bonded well with me as well as each other.

  5. Rats are social and they need a companian.  If you spend  enough time with them they will both bond with you as well as each other.

  6. imagine if u were suddenly taken away from your home and all your friends and put in some strange place with no other people and 1 weird thing that can't even speak your language. you would start feeling lonely then bored and eventually go crazy! thats the same thing a rat goes through! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

  7. Rats are very social. No matter how much time you spend with your lone rat, you can't be with it 24/7. Rats require lots of companionship, and you simply can't make up for a rat friend. They thrive on contact with other rats. They play with each other, sleep together, and they bond with each other. This does NOT mean the rats will not bond to you. They can still bond with you and each other. Lone rats tend to live shorter, less healthy lives. They can become unsocial with humans because they're unhappy. A responsible breeder would never allow a single rat to leave unless the new owner had a rat to pair up with it because they realize how important rat companionship is.

  8. So they have a friennn to play wif.

  9. because rats need someone to play with while your asleep. they are active during the night. wouldnt you hate it if you were all alone at night while everyone was sleeping? i no i would.

  10. rats are people. not like, not similar. people

if you were stuck in a cage

    by yourself

    3, 6, 9 hours.........

i'm sure the only thought would be

    "i'm board"

now if you were in a cage with another person you would be able to bond and be friends. two rats are friends and one rat can become very antisocial quick w/out another. i have one rat but she hangs with my mice and rabbit. she is so social and all of them get along well enough to hang out in an old autemn i made into a cage. they need a friend. don't take that away from them. if you cant have two rats. i suggest 2 mice. there smaller, easyier. they are not as good of a pet but, well, it might just be a better idea.

  11. Rats are very social animals. They trive on attention. Having two just gives them something to interact with while your off doing everyday things in life. Like others have said, "So they don't get lonely."
