  1. I have heard that before myself,  but not in awhile.  It has something to do with some storms that came up in the ocean  like a snap of a finger and took down a couple of ships.  I guess it happened a few times in a very short time period.

That is the story, but I am not sure if it is fact or fiction.

  2. Huh?

You do realize that people go to Bermuda ever day, people live on the island also. They don't "disappear".

Funny, you ask a really silly question and they say only serious answers.

  3. Over the course of history, many airplanes and ships have been lost in the "bermuda triangle".  But of course many, many more have travelled safely through it.

Current thinking is that there may be large deposits of methane under the sea floor that are periodically released in large bursts.  As the bubbles rise, of course the density of (methane bubbles + seawater) is less than the density of plain sea water.  So boats are less buoyant, and thus may sink.  For airplanes, the same type of thing can happen, thus causing a rapid descent since there is less air pressure under the plane holding it aloft.  The tricky thing is, the lowered air density can cause the airplane's altimeter to indicate that the airplane is rapidly going UP thus if the pilot is not paying attention he may point the plane down, making the situation even worse.  Finally, aircraft engines need air to run, just like the engine in your car.  If the methane content of the air goes up enough (and it doesn't take much), it can cause the engine to stall.  I don't fully understand that last bit, since methane is flammable.

PS @ Ben K: I know you were joking, but FYI Amelia Earhart disappeared over the Pacific.  Bermuda is in the Atlantic.

  4. I think that the Bermuda Triangle is a very dangerous place and you should never go there. im asuming there are a lot of storms there but i dont really know...

    well hope this helps! =]

  5. never heard that ...

  6. actually its a proven fact that there is a small wormhole in the middle of the bermuda triangle that sucks up sandy and rocky material and is trapped in the earth also this wormhole actually make plane or ship controls fail so planes could fall out of the sky and ship get lost at sea and sometimes the gravity from it can rip ships in half and it is been proven that was how Amelia Earhart was killed because her plane navigators failed.
