Why does everyone think Bill Gates is the CEO of Micosoft while it is actually Steve Ballmer?

I mean everyone thinks that Bill Gates is in charge of everything, but he's not.

Bill Gates STARTED Microsoft.

People think whomever started the company must be the CEO.

because Bill Gates started Microsoft and is a chairman of it...... obviously.  Plus the public will hear Bill Gates name 1000 time to every Steve Ballmers 1.  Also he was the CEO at one point.

I don't think that.

For several years, Ballmer was the CEO.  However Gates is still Chairman of the Board, and I'm sure provided top leadership at Microsoft while Ballmer was CEO.

cuz normal people dont look up who is the real ceo. they just know that bill gates created it and so they just assume he is the ceo. plus most people dont really care.lol. and like the guy before me said you hear his name more than the Steve ballmer.
