Were you watching Palin's face crinkle up like a witch and her kermit the frog voice, and McCain sounded like a President and actually spoke to America's problems with substance.

ps. Libertarians

  1. Palin is much hotter than McCain.  She's a MILF running for VP -- a V-PILF!  McCain makes Ernest Borgnine look s**y with that yellow tooth smile of his.

What I want to know is why neither one of them mentioned Afghanistan?

  2. I don't know, maybe because McCain is older. That's not really where he shines, he's not a celeb like Obama. McCain will shine in the debates.

  3. There was no substance at all in that speech.

It was intended to be emotional (Fight with me, fight with me, fight with me, WTF?), that's all.

Palin's speech was rhetorically better but what she said was just SCARY.

"Al-Qaida terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America

... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights? "

This woman doesn't respect the rule of law.

What do I care if her speech was better than McCain's.

  4. Because McCain's speech SUCKED! All of his sentences had 4 word or less! My 14-year old nephew could have done better!

However, I don't think Plain's was all that good. She has such a whiny bimbo voice.

Actually, Kermit the frog sounds much better than she does!

  5. The republican convention reminded me of this movie:

Idiocracy is a 2006 American dark comedy directed by Mike Judge, and starring Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph. The two main characters sign up for a military hibernation experiment that goes awry, and they awaken 500 years in the future. They discover that the world has devolved into a dystopia where marketing, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism run rampant and dysgenic pressure has resulted in a uniformly stupid human society.

Despite its lack of a major theatrical release, the film has achieved something of a cult following because of its satire of the “dumbing down” of contemporary society and the breakdown of individual responsibility and consequences[citation needed]. Mike Judge's previous success with Office Space helped fuel the film's popularity for a DVD video release, even as 20th Century Fox seemingly went through quite an effort to produce an underwhelming marketing campaign. The film was largely unknown for the theatrical release due to this effort.

  6. i'm a democrat who for the first time ever will be voting republican and it is because of mccain. i have always liked him because he is moderate and isn't far to the right like most republicans. i think his speech was outstanding and i'm not sure why people would call it poor. they better get used to him, he's going to be our president.

  7. Get "everyone" 's name down, now . . .  We will deal with them one by one.

  8. McCain's was disappointing.  Too much reaching across the aisle to the ones most responsible for the mess.

    The POW story was inspiring.

  9. This was not his forum.  McCain does better off the cuff in more intimate settings - like town hall forums and debates.  If we are electing the best public speaker, I think even McCain would acknowledge he will lose.  On the other hand Palin did an extraordinary job - she was poised, confident, humorous, authentic - she really connected in a strong personal way; both with the delegates in the hall and the television audience at home.  It was one of the most powerful debut performances of any politician in our lifetime.

  10. I don't think everyone thought it was good, it just wasn't a flop.

The main reason is Palin is young enough to read a teleprompter, McCains eyesight is poor due to his age but he can't wear glasses (it would make him look even older) and he has difficulty with reading from a distance.

Psss - Christine if you want to pretend to be a Democrat voting for McCain, you should probably realize that people can view your YahooAnswers history and see that you are obviously a longtime McCain supporter. I guess you are a liar just like your candidate.
