Question:

Why does everyone think Sammy Sosa used steroids?

He has never tested positive for, or been linked to, anabolic steroids. People point out his size difference, but keep this in mind: He came into the league at 165 lbs, but a starving 165 lbs. That was not his natural physique, but the result of poor nutrition.

  1. If someone is willing to cork a bat, they are probably willing to use roids

  2. I have several reasons to think he may have

    1. He was enormous

    2. He kept up with McGwire in that big HR year...who was using steroids

    3. He is obviously a cheater considering he corked his bat which exploded all over the yard

This is enough for me to be pretty suspicious

  3. Duh!

  4. Probably because once he sat in front of Congress and they asked him a question, he could no longer understand English.

From juicing to corking, Sosa is nothing but a cheater.

  5. Lo siento, no hablo Ingles

  6. In his first nine major league seasons, he never hit more than 40 home runs. Then he hit 66, 63, 50, 64 and 49. The "poor nutrition" argument is a new one. How does that account for his dramatic size and power increase after almost a decade in the majors?

  7. REALLY!         Do you know what happens to your body after taking roids? Sosa is the poster child for steroid use.

  8. mr. stiggo's case is absolutely correct

  9. I don't know, he like abandoned the league when he knew heavy drug testing would come into effect.  It sort of looked like he was trying to run from it.

  10. one of the big causes was the fact that he HAD to succed in chicago.  people talk about the New York media and fan strain, but chicago can be tough too.  cubs fans are very demanding.  corked bat was also a negitave thing

  11. cause he has pimples

  12. Yeah, sure every one assumes, etc. etc.

Ten years of minor stardom and then out of nowhere, Sosa is twenty-five, mostly muscle, pounds heavier.

And has four consecutive years of 60+ homers.

Maybe that radio-active spider got him too?

    YEAH, SURE!!

  13. He did but everyone is assuming the hitters who CAN hit are on steriods.

  14. of course, 60 something homers out of nowhere during the peak of steroid use in the MLB.  He also corked bats, just an all around cheater....

  15. I think he may have been a little bit better off if he didn't pretend like he didn't speak English at the hearings.  Also, after the testing really went into place, he stopped hitting HRs like dropping off of a cliff.

He was in the league for 10 years and he had never hit over 40 HRs.  Then he hits 66 the following year.  big Mac never failed a test either.  Come on man connect the dots.
