Question:

Why does everyone think the Rangers have no chance?

I know their pitching needs alot of work, but they are a good team, and no one seems to give them any credit. Everyone is like who's better red sox or yankees. I do believe with the win last nite they are only 1 1/2 games behind the yankees in the wild card chase. So what is it gonna take for people to see they are for real, and when they get the pitching under control, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

  1. Wether they make it or not the Rangers have come out of the darkness and boredom of last season they are actually exciting to watch and in a town with great franchises like the Cowboys Mavs Desperados and Stars it is hard to gain interest in baseball but the Rangers are back and playing with a chip on their shoulder they play their hearts out every game and it is paying off I am so glad to see success against scum like the yankees and if they have a good series against Boston next week the sky is the limit this season is a sign of good things to come hopefully this year but definitely in the future

  2. i luv the rangers.they are my favorite baseball team.they are such a good team.i am so sick of all the negativity, especially towards milton bradley.he is a good teammatre and person.people just don't understand him.with our pitching progresing by the day,we can make a playoff push.but with cj wilson going on the dl, eddie guardado will need to continue being good.also the only time we're on espn is for some other team.for example,on monday when marlon byrd hit the walk off grand slam, joba chamberlain was the main story because he got hurt.i can't take this anymore !1 if the rangers make the playoffs instead of "How did the rangers do it' it will be "what happened to the yankees and red sox" it's just ridiculous.Rangers prove everyone wrong.

  3. the reason everyone thinks the rangers have no chance is becuz they dont.

  4. They have a chance. The Red Sox are ahead of the Yankees though so... that'd make them like 4 1/2 out of the wild card.  Their in it, still got a way to go.

  5. Yea, but the Yankees are 3.5 back of the Red Sox in the Wild Card, making the Rangers 5 games back total. So if the Rangers have any hope, they need to leap frog a five game deficit over some of the best teams in baseball. Sorry, but they don't have the pitching to do that considering they've had 3/4 of a season to get it "under control".

  6. Their pitching needs alot of work

  7. they r but i really dont think there gonna catch up to the angels and if they play for the wild card theyll possibly have to beat out tampa bay, boston, new york, chi. white sox,, minnesota twins....

  8. Isn't there closer going on the DL?  The Yankees are not in the Wildcard lead.  They will have to pass the Sox or the Twins/Whitesox.

They have been trying to get their pitching under control for years as they have always had a strong offense.  They have had no success so far, so why would we believe that they would now.  They always trade their best pitching prospects.

  9. I believe the Rangers have a legitimate shot at the wild card!  It's the least I can do with them playing their heart out at every game like they have been.

Our schedule down the stretch is VERY favorable if we get our game face on... =D

Even our pitching hasn't been too bad this year; just erratic.

And hey... We're now officially 6 games over .500. Yay!

And to answer your question, we're not a team that the nation pays attention to; we don't get to play on Sunday nights for ESPN; most of the US can't name anyone on this team except Josh Hamilton.

I mean, very few guys on Sportscenter or Baseball Tonight mention that the Rangers have the best, most overpowering offense in the Major Leagues.  If the Yankees or Red Sox had accomplished that feat, it'd be all over the Internet. =D

Btw... It looks like C.J.'s gonna be out for the season.  I guess it's for the best; he's evidently been playing through bone spurs for a while...

  10. Although they are wrong, and the Rangers are not really out of it, here's why people think they are:

    1) They are out of their division race being 10.5 games behind the best team in baseball

    2) They are 4th in the wild card behind the Red Sox, Twins, and Yankees, all of which are hard to catch

They aren't really out of it, but they need to put together a winning streak

  11. They do have a good chance at the wild card. I was watching their game last night, and I saw that they have good young pitchers and a full lineup. That will definitely help them down the stretch

  12. They have a chance, but winning the wildcard takes a good pitching staff.
