Why does eye colour change from age?

My aunt had blue eyes until she was 40, but now they are bright green.

How does that happen?

There is a change of the look of the iris. I think I used to have a darker brown ans they are more hazel now. I have no idea why someone's eyes could go from blue to bright green without colored contacts.

Ask her about it...

Some peoples pigment changes with age either the eyes or the skin sometime the hair

I didn't know that happened.  I wonder if I would even noticed if they had changed.
