  1. The answer is that fabric conditioner is a type of oil based product and it leaves a coating in in the drawer which germs and moulds live on.  I have stopped using fabric conditioner for the same reason.  Incidentally, I did not have this problem with my old washer as it was hot and cold fill.  The newer machines are cold fill only so no nice hot water goes through the drawer to sterilize it.  You can soften washing after taking it in from the outside line by putting in the tumble dryer for the last 10 minutes (unheated).

  2. Well the simple answer to this, would be to remove the drawer from the washing machine to wash it every now and again.

  3. ha, thats the first time Ive heard the word 'minging' used on YA - lol

  4. I agree with all previous answers about washing it. I put mine in my dishwasher from time to time - it is great for getting into all the nooks and crannies.

  5. I think what you have to do is use less fabric softener and add water to mix before add to the wash machine door

So its kind of water like when place inside.

  6. yep you have to take out the drawer and wash it regular,,,its a wet area,,,bacteria will build up,,especially as the drawer is closed most of the time,,just pop it out and give it a good wash,,it will be fine then,,don't forget to do this regular.

  7. it's not mold exactly, it's mildew. it's just because of the continuous damp. spray it with some white vinegar, let sit a bit, and wipe off.
