  1. Fog occurs when the air temperature drops to the dew point temperature.  Since temperatures usually fall at night, most fog appears at night.  Temperatures are usually lowest right before daybreak (which is why the fog is densest in the morning).

  2. frogs usually come out at night because there are more insects out at this time. they usually like the color temp and damp areas.

  3. Fog appears at night because the temperature falls below the dew point. The dew point is the temperature that air must release any humidity is absorbs in the form of dew and fog. The drier the air, the lower the dwe point. Also warm air can hold more humidity than cool air

  4. Fog usually appears at night time because of something called radiational cooling. During the day, the Earth's surface experiences daytime solar heating. The air above the Earth's surface is heated as well, and the warm air holds more moisture. When dusk occurs, radiational cooling takes over, and the Earth's surface cools down along with the air above it. If enough cooling takes place, the air temperature is cooled to the dew point, and fog forms because the air is saturated.

That's how radiation fog forms though. You can also have advection fog and precipitation fog, which form differently, but have the same idea in mind: cool the air temperature to the dew point or fill the air up with enough water vapor so that saturation occurs.

  5. Fog is formed (1) when the temperature is reduced below the dew point temperature or (2) when moisture is added to air until condensation takes place. In the former case, radiation fog occurs and in the latter case, advection fog occurs.

The most common type of fog is the radiation fog which occurs mainly due to loss of heat by radiation of energy into space. The important conditions required for the formation of this type of fog are(1) clear skies, (2) light wind, and(3) sufficient moisture in the air .Sometimes a ground inversion also is responsible.

Only in the night ,the earth's surface starts cooling giving out the heat which tries to go up and escape into space. If there is a cloud cover it will reflect back the heat towards the surface and thereby not allowing the temperature become equal or less than the dew point temperature. The chances of clear sky conditions are  more during night due to less convection currents in the night. So cooling is more with a clear sky in the night.

The wind also becomes less during night as convection currents (caused by the sun's heating) leading to turbulence are less and wind becomes almost light(or calm)during most of the night times.Ground inversion also occurs usually in the later part of the night.

Due to above reasons, fog usually occurs during night or early in the morning.
