  1. marketing scam

  2. 'cause health foods are a fad and people are willing to pay. This also includes the so called 'organic' food and 'diet food'.

  3. because they have to go through a longer and harder process than the original

  4. because eating healthy is expensive.

  5. I would like to tell you it is because there is this highly technical process where they take the fat out but I would not be telling the truth. Although sometimes they do have to do more to take the fat out mostly it is because it is a convenience. Companies take advantage of the fact people are trying to buy certain foods and increase the price. The "fat free" label catches peoples eyes so many tend to purchase those with the "fat free" label over products without that label. If a company knows that they can get more people buying a product they will charge more for that product. It's kinda sad really.

  6. Because people are willing to pay more
