If it's weaker, it's not so bad, but every time I've made a strong cup of green tea, it tastes like salmon.

  1. I have experienced the Japanese Green Tea, it tasted fishy too. May be you bought is a Japanese Green Tea. My Japanese friend told me that if you dislike the taste, you can put some rice or ginger to take away the fishy taste or a mixture of another type of tea, it tastes wonderful, you can try it.

Green tea have a lot of categories which I have tried and drank before.

Some green tea can add sugar to make it like "lipton" tea; and can put some lemon/lime in to the green tea. It tastes very nice when served in cold.

Northern Chinese Green Tea is the strongest, when you drink, you get very hungry very fast. Their taste is very nice.

  2. It sounds like you have an inferior brand of green tea.  Some of the cheaper kinds are just awful. They use the leftovers bits and tealeaves sprayed with chemicals.  Get a good whole leaf or at least loose leaf green tea.  If you really want to drink tea, spend a little money for a quality brand.

Green tea should be refreshing and slightly sweet without adding sugar or honey.

  3. Really?  I think it tastes (and smells) like the clippings my gardener puts in the trash can when he's done with my yard.....
