Why does gumtree bar e-mail address?

What I mean is this. I can no longer post adverts because someone complained maliciously. I'm wondering whether I can now reply to other peoples' adverts from my "barred" address. Indeed, why does Gumtree bar addresses on the strength of spurious complaints from business competitors?

Dozens of scam artists and con-merchants embed eMail addresses in their posting because their 'registered' email address is a 'throw away' fake ..

By banning eMail addresses, gumtree forces the scam artist to use their 'real' email addresses for Registration .. and these can be blocked once they have been banned ... (unlike Yahoo where the same scammer simply Registers again with yet another throw-away address)
