Why does his teething rings smell so funny?

Is this normal? It's a horrible smell. It's manufactured in China. Should I trust it to be safe or not?

Some teething rings have been recalled due to toxicity. I would throw it away.

I would throw it out and get a new one.  I have never heard of them smelling bad

brush his gums/teeth.  you can get special finger gloves in the infant section at wal mart.

Could it be baby slober? If it's brand new you might need to leave it outside for a week or two to out-gas the chemical smells associated with petroleum based manufacturing processes.

i was wondering the same thing. the smell makes me gag, and its not from my baby, his breath always smells sweet. this thing has stunk even after washing it and disinfecting it. but he loves it. ill feel bad tossing it.
