Why does human sperm smell so bad ?

just curious, well OBVIOUSLY I have never smelt any before I am asking on behalf of a friend for his biology exam.

What??? The human sperm doesn't smell! At least mine and that of my boyfriend does NOT smell. Even samples in the lab do not smell. What are u talking about?

Erm I have no idea.

I know sperm changes depending on what a guy eats - perhaps whoevers sperm smells so bad could be eating the wrong types of food.. OR perhaps its an STI (sexually transmitted infection) - I know with girls when their discharge smells this could be a sign of having an STI so perhaps its the same for men?

Go get yourself checked out or whoever has the bad smelling sperm!

Sperm does not smell. The fluid sperm is carried has got protein called albumin. (same like chicken egg) when albumin gets exposed to oxygen it gives out some odour. some people really like that odour and some dislike it.

The only smell I've noticed is a little like bleach, not a bad smell.

I haven't tasted enough to give you an intelligent answer.

the smell may be from the food u eat...

but I dont think it smells...if you dont clean up after you come it will leave a smell on ur p***s...but thats not just the smell of come...WASH IT OFF...

the taste is not good...

It doesnt always smell bad, a lot can depend on your diet. If you eat lots of onions, garlic or spicy food it can make sperm smell. Eat lots of sweet foods (fruit) it can change its smell too.

It even effect the taste of sperm (my gf tells me so)

Depends on what you've been eating, also things like vitamin B tablets make it smell a lot more pungent - apparently for a sweeter smell (& taste!) you need to eat things like strawberries & pineapple....

It will smell after sitting around and bacteria gets to it. That is normal.

In order to do this nutrients from your prostate and other accessory structures provide an environment that keeps them alive until they reach target. This stuff may not smell great but it works. If you smelled amniotic fluid when a baby is born you might not want to bottle and sell it either. It works but it may not look pretty or smell pretty.

Personally, I don't think that my s***n smells that bad, but what do you expect it to smell like, a bouquet of roses?

Normal washing in the washing machine should get it out of socks, and one of the usual spray cleaners should remove it from walls and ceilings.      I'm jealous, I could never shoot that far!
