Why does hunger strike at around 1 pm even if one has a good breakfast?

I have been trying to figure this out. I have my lunch at at around 2.30, otherwise I can not stay awake to work.

  1. Each Body is unique.

    Some people takes 4 hours to digest the meal they ate.

    Some takes only 2 hours to digest.

    Depends on each individuals. You can try taking milk or yogurt or soy milk 2 hours after your breakfast.

    This might help you feel full longer.

  5. Just the way things work, I suppose. I guess it would depend on what time you eat breakfast. That would explain it if you ate early rather than later.

  6. What does a good breakfast consist of? If you have a lot of protein, like meat, at breakfast, then it will keep you satiated for a longer period of time. If you eat a lot of carbs at breakfast then this will keep you satiated for a lower period of time. So, if you want to not be hungry, eat more meat. But honestly, if you eat breakfast anytime before 10:30, being hungry at 1 is completely normal. You should eat every few hours anyway, smaller portions, and have maybe 4 to 5 meals a day if your schedule allows it (remember, smaller portions) instead of 3 big ones. You may find you get hungry less.

Depends on a couple of things, I think.  You're body usually sends out a signal that its hungry (growling stomach, etc.) after 4 hours.  If you are eating really early in the morning, then it makes sense that you'd be hungry again around 1.  However, if your hunger is being triggered by emotions, you could find yourself "hungry" or craving specific foods within 1 -2 hours after eating something substantial.  That's emotional hunger, which can be taken care of differently.  So...there you have it.
