  1. because its spicy, those sort of foods tend to do that

  2. It's the CURRY (it's like pepper)

  3. Because those spices they use stimulate all of those glands around the facial area.

  4. because they over do it with the chilli powder and then probably add additional chillies, becuase this is how they think good asian food tastes. If you eat out, ask if  the dish has a lot of chillies and ask to take them out. The probably also use the really hot green chillies in the curry.

As an indian, i dont like chilli in my food as i dont like hot from chillies, it makes my food unbearable to eat, however i do like spices in food, but its the heat from the chillies that makes my nose water.

Its an asian thing, they like their food hot and will often have green chillies or chillie pickle on the side, but i cant take it, i like to enjoy my food and they think im soft, because i cant eat hot food.

  5. the spices, same thing with wasabi in japanese food, but it still tastes good  anyway

  6. Spices and chilies stimulate your glands in your face, and they swell. so the mucus inside your glands tends to receive neurotransmitters so it swells your structures inside the olfactory system.

You tend to get runny nose.  you need sugar and cold water to rehydrate yourself. Sugar neutralizes the taste buds on your tongue even when you are consuming spices and chilies within your body.

  7. I am a former chef and a "Chili-head" and I have that problem sometimes or I get the hiccups, did when I had the dreaded "Phaal" in London England, and when I go to the Chinese places here in Toronto Canada and get into the chili oil and paste on the table, sometimes I have that issue, not so much with Indian or Thai foods for some reason.

The other are correct, the membranes in your respiratory system expand and that causes the musus membranes to start and your nose runs or you hiccup like me, it is a stimulus reaction to the endorphins the peppers give off

  8. it is all the hot spice they use!
