  1. Thanks to technological advances any moron with a microphone, PC and an Internet connection can create a 'broadcast"....

This reinforces the statement...."Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD!!!"

The polished "commercial" sound you hear from a lot of the XM stations and "terrestrial" stations you get when you jump in you car and tune in to your favorite "jock"....comes from years of practice, mistakes, fine tuning and "coaching"....most of the time you get one of those things when it's a some guy in his basement spinning his favorite songs and yammering about what he had for lunch that day.

  2. Due to lack of programing and skills. Anyone can really start up there own internet radio station. Try AOL Radio. Also, if you still don't like that, why not try XM satellite radio?

  3. If that is the case, it's because there is no infrastructure setup for entertaining as a policy of performance. i.e. Music Programmer, Program Director, and a host of real radio experience.

In the older days (15 yrs ago) If your didn't make in radio, you taught, these days, it's the same, but instead you open your own store.

In the real world don't expect topline acts, personality and smooth programming from amateur setups, best thing to do, is get the best you can out of it.

You want shine and pop, the dial is still there.
