Why does is this happening to my computer? Programs keep closing, with the send error report.?

All the programs I open close except for Windows Live. I'm running on safe mode right now, but in regular XP everything closes with the send error report. Could anyone help me? I'm running Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I'm pretty sure it's not a virus.

I think it might be a problem with a .dll file? Recently I downloaded a UXtheme multipatcher, but did not install it. I think my sister may have clicked it accidently, would this affect anything?

Use System Restore to go back to a previous state. If the problem is still not solved, reinstall XP.

That keep happening to me awhile ago and I just thought it was faulty hardware so I just re-installed Windows XP.

It turned out to be a pretty bad virus that in the end ruined all my files and I lost everything. I had a virus protector as well and that didn't help.

I took it to two different IT people and both of them said that it was too late for them to do anything about it.

So I'd take take it to someone who can fix it ASAP.

Sounds like one of two things to me - either a virus or a faulty piece of hardware, like RAM.

Maybe install an anti-virus package, like Avast, and see if it finds any viruses.  If not, try re-installing Windows XP, and if that STILL doesn't solve the problem, take your PC to your nearest and best IT store and ask them to test your hardware.
