Question:

Why does it have to be Vic Vs The All Stars?

It should be SA vs Victoria, proper state of origin. SA and Victoria used to have state of origins all the time the rivalry was great. As a South Aussie i think it should be us versing the vics, who cares about the rest.

I can't see why the AFL can't fit in the state of origin every year. I mean the rugby league has the normal season, pre season, state of origin, country vs city, and australian duties. All we have is the season and pre-season, we lost the irish series. It makes us look weak compared to rugby league.

  1. The AFL are trying to create the same atmosphere that exists with the NRL's state of origin.

The AFL will fail.  The NRL's state of origin is one of the best events on the Australian sporting calender.   The best they can do is stick to the weekly AFL competition and promote interstate rivalry that way.  For example West Coast (WA) vs Sydney Swans (NSW)

  2. it's probaly becasue victoria has alot more skilld players than SA.

  3. best bet would be WA vs Vic.

WA's got a heap of talent.

and a lot of them get picked up early in the drafts.

    so they move east.

New South Wales people are so much better at organising things.

so theyre able to get things going and keep them going.

thing with the AFL committee is that they think the Victorians are forever going to be superior.

up until last year, with Geelong's premiership, non-Victorian teams have won since 2001.

with the last Victorian team being Essendon in 2000.

  4. Because the Vics would slaughter any one state on their own
