Whenever I make a stitch when I'm knitting, it leaves a hole. Is it supposed to do that? What am I doing wrong?

  1. There shouldn't be a big hole unless you're using overly large needles.  Is your stitch count staying the same?  If not I'd guess that you're making a yarnover accidentally between stitches.

You might want to check youtube or other sources for some free "how to knit" videos and double check you're doing it just right.  You can also check a book's instructions.

  2. It will make a hole when you "make 1" unless you knit the new stitch through the back loop. If you don't know how to do that, you can check out a tutorial on a site like www.knittinghelp.com. I hope this helps!
