Why does it matter that her husband works for an oil company - look at her record on energy!?

Because no one knows the difference between a production operator and an oil executive.

Todd Palin is one of the little guys.

It's an insignificant matter. Finding someone who works in the oil industry in Alaska is about as hard as finding someone who works in the Auto industry in Michigan.
