  1. Hey, you are famous! Even Google knows you! When I entered "fireman6261 yahoo profile" (without the highmarks) in Google, I got this: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile?show... Now if that isn't you...:-)

  2. sorry but yahoo search sucks, use a different search engine.

  3. This must have been a temporary mistake on Yahoo's part, because when I Google your handle it comes up with all sorts of stuff about you, including my profile! lol

My profile comes up because you and I are part of each other Contacts/Fans. Google is an amazing search engine!

Now, lately I have been having a couple of odd occurances on the Yahoo! website. Sometimes when I am here at Answers, I click on some link, whether a question, or a topic, or somebodies profile, and I get a "Sorry for the inconvience, but Yahoo! is on a coffee break, come back and try again soon!" error. As soon as I click my Back button and select a different link I am back on Yahoo!, so apparently Yahoo! was *not* on a coffee break!

The other odd occurance is when I am anywhere on the Yahooo! website infratructure, I will sometimes receive an "Page cannot display", try again later, blah, blah, blah, and again, as soon as I click Back and click a different link, the webpage displays without any issues.

Sometimes websites and 'website networks', which is how I refere to large interconnected websites from one company, become so large and traffic and memberships grow so quickly, that the Servers used to display the websites, and manage all of the account settings, store all the related "stuff" things can get a bit dicey in some areas, causing little weird issues, like I descibed above. lol

As long as you can access your profile, and get on the webpages to carry out the tasks you wish then you are OK. If your family/friends tell you they are unable to locate you in the Yahoo! directory, or have other issues in connecting up with you on the Yahooo! websites, then consider contacting Customer Care. You can do this by clicking the Help link at the upper right corner of every Yahoo! webpage, then either ask a question, and after clicking on the "answer" to that question, scroll to the bottom of the page where it asks if your question has been answered, and if not "Contact Customer Care". When you click on that link a webform will appear in a new window, you fill it out and click Send. In a day or so Yahoo! will get back to you at the email address you provide. The email address does not have to be a Yahoo! mail address, it can be any adddress you choose.

It has been a while since I needed to contact Customer Care. The times I did I had to go through all the steps I outlined above in order to get to the Contact Customer Care link. It may be easier now to do this, when you click on Help, scroll around the page and see if a link to Customer Care is now on the first page of Help. I hope so I have given Yahoo! several "feature requests", which outlined out difficult and unweildy their systems for contacting Customer Care was and to make it easier for people to contact them. I am sure other people have sent in similar requests! lol

So, if this continues to be an issue, go ahead and contact Customer Care, and tell them what the issue is, and under what circumstances it occurs, and how it affects your use of the Yahoo! services and offerings. Tell them what OS version you are running, and other system components such as how much RAM, your CPU, etc.

I hope this helps, good luck and please have a nice day.

*edit* I just performed the identical search using the Yahoo! search engine and almost the same information came up. So, it is obvious that the Yahoo! search engine has come a long way. Yahoo search did not bring up my profile on Answers, and it included a link to what appears a p**n site! There isn't anything in the link which even resembles Fireman6261, so what is up with that?! lol

So, Yahoo! Search did indeed pull up many references to your Yahoo! Handle, (that seems better than 'nickname' as we are too old to be having those) lol  So, anyway, the Yahoo! Search results are a bit scanty when compared to what Google brought up, so Yahoo! still has some catching up to do, but it still gave the information I asked for. Can't sneeze at that. lol

OH, and by the way, *both* Google and Yahoo! brought up questions you use in other communities, such as CNET Community, Real Support Community, Yahoo! Xtra, Google gives your age, and Yahoo! provides your name and your age, David. That is a bit scary, I try to keep my personal information private, so only individuals I have developed a trust relationship with over time has those details. Be really careful when selecting the information you want to be public. I also found a reference, on the Yahoo! search results, not Google of where you live and your age too! So, your real name, your age, and your location are easily gathered off Internet search engine results.

There is even a reference to this question there! lol
