Why does it say memory card locked?

I have an optimus digital video cam,and when i turn it on it either says memory card full when theres nothing in the card...or it says memory card locked?and when i try taking pictures or videos...it doesnt let me

Check the little slider on some cards, like SD cards.  It is there to prevent accidentally erasing something.

take the camera or just the memory card to geek squad or just buy a new one
