You see a lot more women who are hard court players, who still do well on clay, but with men, it seems the transition is tougher. Or am I imagining that?

  1. Yea I've always wondered that myself, I think it has allot to do with the time of length men have to play versus the women. Women play best 2 out of 3 no matter what. But at the slams especially and some other tourney's the have to play best three out of five, which takes longer, allot of players choke in five setters. Probably is has allot to do with what there used to from home, they might not adapt to hard courts, if there used to being on clay, and vice-versa. IDK it's one of those questions the world may never know, LMAO. If I may add that's why Federer is the best because no matter the surface he kicks butt! LOL GO FED!

  2. For me as a female, clay is better on the joints, plus the ball doesn't move as fast, and men seem to like it hard and fast. I love the clay, carpet, rebound, and I like the hard courts as well.  Haven't played on grass yet.

  3. You are right, I think so because men hit harder, therefore the game is a little bit slower on clay and the power players in tennis are not as successful. Take Roger Federer for instance, he has a really tough time beating Raphael Nadal on Clay, but when it comes to a hard surface, he usually has his number. Nadal = finesse, Federer = Power.

Also, its harder to move as quick on clay, have to use the slide properly.

Womens tennis is more rallying, mens points are decided a lot faster, more power hitting, but power doesn't win on clay.

  4. Men's tennis is a power game dominated by people with deadly serves.

Female tennis players have less power and hence more game. Clay is the slowest surface in the professional round and is known to generate longer rallies.

Because most of the top female players have a more rounded game than men, they will do better on the slower surface. Meanwhile the top men are only good at the power shots and so those with a little less power can challenge them successfully on clay.

  5. Men like fast game. Women like consistent game.

  6. men=fast, strong

women=a little bit slow, consistent, and have longer rallies (in hard courts) than men
