I mean every single stupid President has had one and other prominent political figures... is it that we suppress our sexual desires to the point where we eventually become deviants? Just wondering.

  1. Would you give a rat's behind if it were Mr Nobody and not the president? Other people's morals are none of your business.

  2. I have not had an affair. I have been married for 7 yrs. If there is something that I want to try or do my husband is more than willing to accommodate. (most often) Not everyone cheats.

  3. Because I think human beings for the most part can never be satisfied, we always always want more until we get it then we just want more of something else. On top of that loyalty, morals and honestly have become extinct, we're very selfish creatures.

  4. I disagree with Mary. Yes, it's our business what the Pres. does. If his own wife can't trust him after he promise her in front of family and God to be faithful to her, then why should we, the people, trust him to take care of our country. If he's willing to lie to the person he claims to love, then who's to say that he won't lie about other things. But back to the question. My thinking is that no one cares anymore about what a marriage is really about. They are disposable these days, like a paper plate, once you use it you just throw it away and get another one. I was taught a promise is a promise, and by honoring them shows what kind of person you truly are. But these days, the word promise has truly lost it's meaning. Making a promise to someone is as easy as telling a lie!

  5. Well, obviously, there are much too many reasons for such affairs than can be enumerated here.  Yet, something else to consider is this:  Some individuals have affairs for no reason at all, sometimes individuals connect with one another and things happen unexpectedly.

The truth of the matter is this:  It's not necessarily "deviancy" in the way you mean, in many cases the action is a reflection of a different side to an individual finding expression in the form of a concrete manifestation.

I also have to agree that while it may appear that everyone is having an affair; and the high divorce rate is the USA is certainly apparently a reflection of infedility in marriage, at least in part that is, not all are actually having affairs (In many cases, married individuals are simply fantasizing about being  "with" others, even while "with" their spouses; and in other cases individuals are having all of their needs and fantasies fulfilled by their respective spouses, thus making the need for an affair nil).
