Why does it seem like guys try to hide their braces?

my boy does it all the time and it's just really annoying. LOL.

The only time I'll sometimes be covering my mouth is because I'm talking or laughing and I'm actually in the middle of eating, but I think that is pretty natural considering you don't want food up in your braces while you're doing that.  Otherwise it's really no big deal at least to me.

Because they probably have no self confidence and think braces are for "dorks" and "nerds".

Some people (not just guys, girls too) are self-concisious about having braces even though its no big deal. But it does seem that more girls have braces than boys. So some boys tend to feel different having braces on their teeth, thinking its making them more like a girl.

It's no big deal because eventully the braces come off.

I don't know. My friend did this in high school. Whenever he'd laugh, he'd cover his mouth. I always made fun of him for doing that. It looked more silly than actually showing his braces.
