Question:

Why does it seem like not many believe the FBI/gov't on their explanation of the anthrax attack?

Most people are saying that the story just doesn't add up and that the FBI just wants this embarrassing story to go away because the anthrax came from our own military. What do you think about that?

  1. Because we are claiming that he was a sociopath with a known long term history of crazy behavior yet our intelligence services never connected the anthrax domestic terrorism to him. In fact, they focused on a guy they had to pay off for defaming him. The whole thing stinks of obstruction.... at the very least. There is undoubtedly more than just absolute sheer incompetence at play. Since they are claiming this is closure they can at least release all documents to congress.

  2. I think that most people don't care one way or another about this case.  It's old news.  Those that do care are very vocal and the vocal get all the headlines, hence, it seems like "everyone" doesn't believe the FBI.

  3. What's not to believe?  I think a nut inside the US military who was obsessing is much more plausible than some foreign terrorist sending poisoned letters through the mail.

  4. I think the media/people stir up a lot of c**p. That's as bad as people say Bush had his hand in 9-11!

  5. If that organization is that ineffective and incompetent, with the creme of the crop and all the best technology then they need new leadership or politics is effecting their investigation.Bush was so h**l bent on linking it to Al Queda that the investigation was thwarted from the beginning.

  6. Because it's a bunch of bull.  The Anthrax was sent to Dems who would not vote FOR the Patriot Act.

Oh yeah and it's illegal to have biological engineering labs on American soil and it's against a lot of international laws to have them ne where else.  Why hasn't someone ran with that one yet?  The gov is ADMITTING TO YET ANOTHER CRIME!  But people R 2 stupid 2 c it.

  7. I've not heard of any doubts about the recent disclosures involving domestic anthrax attacks.  I don't doubt they exist either (got any links?)  How doesn't the story add up?

And if the government wanted to cover up, why would they disclose anything?  The anthrax attacks had been largely forgotten, or in many minds, the fault of external terrorists.  It seems like according to your theory, they were better off not saying anything.

  8. I will be embarrassed if as a country we are retarded enough to believe the story the media and government are now trying to sell about this apparent suicide of a crazy nut acting alone.  The anthrax attacks were done to force compliance of the politicians who were blocking the passage of the Patriot Act and to further scare the people into accepting a reduction in civil liberties that were designed to protect us from oppression.

Obviously it was an inside job.

Have no doubt -- if the government did not want the story in the media then it wouldn't be there. The media and government are two sides of the same coin.

Why did they even allow it into the media last week? Was it a distraction to keep our eye off another ball? I wish I knew the answer to the question. I would be looking for the missing ball.

  9. Because a lot of people know that the FBI doesn't want to investigate Dr. Philip Zack, a jewish doctor who was caught on tape stealing the anthrax strains.

  10. Keith Olberman had an excellent report on this subject on Countdown on MSNBC Monday night. The newspaper accounts report the deceased scientist had no way to turn anthrax into powder. What everyone seems to be missing as an important factor in the case is the Army gave anthrax to the CIA years ago.The FBI knew the CIA had anthrax. So why were none of the CIA scientists and laboratories ever investigated? The FBI was looking for the culprit in the wrong place.Instead of Fort Detrick they should have been looking in Langley,Virginia.

  11. Immediately to start with, it isn't exactly out of step for our government to cover things up.

But in this case, there is even more problems.  This guy was supposed to sociopathic, ready to kill.  He apparently had problems with everyone but with women in particular, and he wanted to target the nearby sorority for death.

Then he wanted to do this just to see how symptoms of Anthrax display themselves; like the kid who pulls the wings off of flies and hangs cats and drowns puppies and so on.  You know, the kid who grows up to be a serial killer later; that's what this guy was, but all grown up.

And so much more that all suggests homocidal maniac.  And how does he finish it up?  One killed, himself.  Just one.

When people start thinking like this, they often kill themselves.  But they don't just take themselves out; they shoot up a school or a mall.  They go and actually become serial killers.  They actually go out and hurt as many people as possible (usually trying to be famous for doing it) before they kill themselves.

He took out only himself.  And very quietly.  It just doesn't fit the profile of actual sociopaths.

And the timing; right before being charged.

It just makes more sense to say that the government ordered him to do the anthrax deal for any number of reasons; then when it looked like he was going to get caught and might talk, he was taken out.

And those reasons could be that the Bush Administration was looking for something to justify going to Iraq and staying there.

The Bush Administration wanted the Patriot Act passed and wanted the Anthrax scare to increase their powers of surveillance over Americans.

The Government is looking into biological weapons or in how to deal with them, and did a little "experiment" to see how we would react if we had to deal with it.  To see how best to handle it; or how best to inflict it on some enemy country.

Probably a few others; those are just the ones I thought of right off the bat.  But there are so many reasons and logic that fit murder of the scientist over the fairly illogical suicide.

  12. I think there's a lot more going on--than the government wants us to believe.

It's odd how the mastermind of 9/11 can elude our most advanced military and tracking systems--but we can find an impotent dictator in a rat hole; and an soriety obsessed scientist whom is *possibly* linked to the anthrax attacks--but took his life before we could find out the real truth.

And if it IS this Ivins guy--why did it take the government 7 long years to finally catch up to him?

Everything about this whole affair makes no sense whatsoever.
