They almost seem saddened that the storm is now a Cat 2. What's that about?

  1. Yeah, I noticed that, too.

  2. Bush is more depressed than the media,  because now there's no excuse for him not showing up at The Convention. The GOP wishes that he would stay home because his impact would be a reminder of  the last 8 disapproving years. McCain rarely mention his name and Palin hasn't spoken it yet.

  3. first of all let me just say that i for one am ecstatic that gus weakened cuz i live in very southern louisiana(aprox 15mi from the gulf) and to answer ur question sir it is quite simple. media luvs death and carnage and gussy was promising! who cares that we all get to keep our homes our cars our lives! who cares that they dont get to trash fema and the governor for doing such a horrible job. oh dammit now they have to give the good news that no one drowned and no one had to be rescued from treetops or rooves. what a pity that we get to go back to work soon cuz our place of business will still be there!  the media can kiss my happy a**!

  4. because they put all of their money and effort into the coverage of gustav and missed the full meal deal gossip about the pregancy of vp candidates daughter.  their all taking off their slicker and jumping on a plane to scramble up a news story.....sad. i hate the news.  it is all a big vat of lies and gossip.

  5. Well, these are the moments that they live for.  They've spent quite a bit of time hyping this and in their minds, Mother Nature isn't delivering the spotlight moment they had their hearts set on.  With every storm downgrade and less destruction, they are watching their Emmy for hard-hitting coverage of the death and destruction go down the toilet.

  6. Because the media loves to report bad news!

  7. They do seem like its not a good thing and are quite disappointed.  I guess it was supposedly a huge news story and more exciting than the Rep Convention so they went with it.  After positioning all  kinds of staff there , hunkered down and poof the thing is petering out.  Anderson Cooper's hair is hardly blowing  at all.
