Why does it seem rich teens don't get made fun of?

I don't know how it was in your high school, but in mine it seemed like once it was discovered your family had money, people would automatically not give you trouble, some even suck up/fall all over you. I witnessed a wealthy girl in 9th grade(like 14?) make her screen name playboybunny89-didnt get any c**p for it. Another girl, same age, just middle class, made hers something similar, and was labeled a s**t right away. Perfect example of the point I'm trying to illustrate. Does anyone else observe any of this or see some truth in it? And why is it like this?

  1. Oh I wouldn't say that. I knew of rich kids who got made fun of or even snubbed because people assumed that they'd be snobs because their familes had money. Often they have to deal with people who just want to make friends with them simply beause they come from a rich family.

Also, look at the various famous teens out there who people constantly make fun of and slam and have things said about them that practically border on libel.  Examples?  Any of the Disney Channel celebrities, Jonas Bros, and many others...

  2. That's not true. I come from a very wealthy family and I am not the most perfect girl at school. People don't really treat me any differently (not that I want them to, anyway) I just get along exactly like all the others do.
