Question:

Why does it seem that some Christians rather play the "h**l" card than the "God" card in everyday life?

I ask this because whenever I encounter religious arguments, some Christians tend to start dwelling on the concept of h**l and how horrible it is. It is not really an invitation for anyone to join your religion.

Why don't you rather tell us about how wonderful God is or how he can change our lives? Is it not better to show people and prove to them the love of God than running around and promoting the evil side of your religion?

  1. why support terrorist?  I say.

  2. Suppose for a moment that Christianity is true...

Would it be wrong to warn those who are going to h**l?

Is the purpose to manipulate or to reason with?

There is a difference between a threat and a warning.

I know the idea of h**l is politically incorrect but, so is the idea of asking this question, shouldn't we ask "Why is it offensive?" instead of "why don't they use a nicer tactic?"

If h**l is real it is not cruel to tell people about it.  If h**l is real and is a real consequence of your sins against God isn't it an act of compassion from a person that they would go out of their comfort zone to tell you about it hoping that you might be saved from it?

In reasoning with people it is normal to try and point out the problems with one way of living/thinking verses the good of another way of living/thinking.

For those who disagree with Christianity, for a moment try and consider where we are coming from for the sake of clarity.  If I only told you about heaven how would you know that you must repent of sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ? If I only told you about h**l how would you know that Jesus died to take the punishment for your sins so that you could be forgiven and have eternal life?

I hope you take to heart the teachings of Jesus on BOTH h**l and heaven.

and realize that while there are different methods of sharing truths with people a person cannot compromise the core truths that they are sharing.  If so, they become unrepresentative of what they claim to believe.

Is it the sharing of h**l that you are opposed to or the belief in h**l?

because it sounds like you would like us to share heaven but not h**l and become compromised in important truths that need to be shared out of compassion.

For those who shared about h**l with you... were they happy you were going or were they warning you?

  3. because as sad as it is many of them are christians just because they fear h**l not because they love their god

  4. Because an empty threat is a more powerful motivator than a false promise.

  5. Funny, I seldom speak of h**l and know very few Christians that do every often.
