Whats the process for expanding dsl/cable internet and why does it take so long!

  1. they have to place repeaters and 2-way equipment, fiber-optics, ect,  not needed for standard cable & telephone lines, and financially they can only justify this if there are enough users in a given area to upgrade that area.
