Why does it take time to build up to running a marathon?

I want to build up my capacity... to be able to run a few miles. I can not do that now. What happens to my body between the time I start where I am not able to run hardly at all to a place where I may be able to run a marathon. Also what can be done to assist the process. That is types of food, beverages, vitamins, exercises...

  1. Yeah eat a whole bunch of sweets weeks before then, but that day dont eat anything because you could throw up.


  2. Your question and dialogue really don't ask a coherent question.

  3. carbs,sweets,powerade,koolaid,tortilla chips are good for weeks before race or in training...the day of the race you shouldnt eat anything
