Why does it take upto 9 days to clear funds from bank to paypal? Is there another quicker way to add funds?

I add funds to my paypal account from my registered current UK account but it takes 7 - 9 working days. Is there any other way of getting funds into paypal without having to wait so long?

move to the USA, it only takes 2-3 days - you're going overseas and converting currency - that's why it takes longer

Why are you trying to add funds in the first place?  You have the ability to send funds directly from your bank to a seller in the form of an eCheck, PayPal does not require you to use the "add funds" link first before you can send money.  In addition. if you add a credit or debit card to your PayPal account you will be able to send instant payments to your sellers.  

To add a credit card or debit card to your PayPal account:

Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/

Click 'Profile'.

Click the 'Credit/Debit Cards' link in the Financial Information column.

Click 'Add a Card' if you already have a card registered.

Enter the required card information.

Click 'Add Card'.

To update the expiration date for a card on your PayPal account:

Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/

Click 'Profile'.

Click the 'Credit/Debit Cards' link in the Financial Information column.

Click 'Edit' next to the card to update.

Enter the required information and click 'Save'.
