Why does it turn to this?

Why does the page always go to verizon search when i type maybe like a word on the address line like say maybe on the address line i type dog and the address line redirects me to a verizon search? How do I make it so that it redirects me to a yahoo search?

set yahoo as ur default search page---tools internet options/under the general tab look for search /settings/set default page
