Why does jake imprint on nessie?

In breaking dawn jake hates vampires but imprints on nessie {half vamp and half human} tht maks no sense

Meyer made him imprint. And with imprinting you don't have a choice. That sucks. I always thought imprinting was annoying, I mean, whatever happened to free choice? Jake's imprinting was pedophilia.

It's because Smeyer backed herself into a nice little hole- Jacob is in love with Bella, who is pregnant with Edward's baby and married to Edward.  Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was a convenient way for her to solve this problem.  Personally, I wanted him to imprint on Leah, but I guess that won't happen now.

i am completely agreeing with "The Schwa" on this one, SM had to figure out a way to give everyone a pg happy ending and since bella and edward were taken it was easier for jacob to fall in love with a part of bella i guess. And like they said in the previous chapters and books you cant really help who you fall for its just like the earth stops moving and your in love with just that one person and i guess nessie just turned out to be the person. i also wanted him to imprint on leah though but i knew that wasn't possible because it would have already happened in one of the books it says once your changed and you see someone for the first time it would happen and i was kinda hoping it would be someone good, being that he went from mother to daughter i think is kind of eerie

Nessie's dna confinguration is like Jacobs so they are "the same" now.  But no one really knows how imprinting works so we can't tell why Jacob really imprinted on Nessie
