Why does kid rock wear the confederate flag?

Because he's an idiot...he's acting entitled, and not helping our image of arrogance in the US.

It's not about owning the symbol, it's about the symbol having historical power.  Who the heck is he to come along and decide that now he's going to own it for his use and change history so that he can be whimsical.  Again, he's just stupid and entitled..."this is America! I can do what I want".

He wants to have it both ways:  Wants to inherit the cool that is supposedly inherent in blackness, while exploiting a symbol that is negatively indicative of blackness.  We Americans can certainly be some ambivalent m*f*'s, huh?

he and his background have nothin to do with the confederacy, the south, or southern pride. Thats like me suddenly deciding to rock the Swedish flag even though i aint Swede, it makes me look pathetic.
