Question:

Why does lower back (almost to my bum) really hurt?

It really hurts when I lay down or sit but causes enough pain for me to lean forward a bit when I walk. It doesn't hurt when I pee so I don't think it is a bladder infection. Any ideas?

  1. It could be a lot of things.:

    Bad mattress needs replacing

Shoes are not right for your feet

    Poor posture

    Pendulous abdomen

    pendulous b*****s

Slouching in chairs while you watch tv or do other things.

Chair you normally use doesn't fit your body. For example, too long for your body from back to front.

Picking things up wrong.  Use your legs!

A weak back that needs the right exercises

It's just really hard to say what the problem is.  I hope you get it fixed somehow.  It's a real pain.  I have it too but know what mine is from.

  2. Well Steph....I'm not a doctor and don't even pretend to play one on TV.  You need to make an appointment with a good chiropractor.   That should definitely help alleviate your pain.

  3. It could be any number of things....(not to scare you, but)..You could have an STD (back pain is one symptom of chlamydia and others), ummm, do you have any children? If so,when you had them, did you get an epideral?( Epiderals cause major lower back problems). Have you ever been in any kind of accident? Fractured bone? Do you always sit on a hard chair or anything else uncomfortable a lot? Do you have deppression? There are a lot of different things...have you talked to a doctor and told them your symptoms? They could determine your problem better than any of us on here. If you don't want to go to the doctors, then just call a nurses hotline, doctors office or emergency room in your area and explain your symptoms

  4. Sounds like a pinched sciatic nerve. See a Chiropractor or if that doesn't help, a Neurologist.
