  1. Pretty absurd, isn't it.  Earth has been far warmer in the past and it has been far cooler, too.  If it hadn't changed, all of those fossils we find would be of animals that are still walking around.

  2. I think what he means is--- What is the Optimum Temperature of the Earth? (if it exists at all)

  3. The "correct" temperature is the one intended by nature, not what man is driving it toward.  You can easily see the problem on this graph.  Nature was in a slow cooling, until we messed things up by emitting tons of greenhouse gases.  The right hand edge of the graph is essentially a verticle line.

That extreme alteration of nature threatens to cause great damage to our agriculture, and our coasts.

"If the Earth came with an operating manual, the chapter on climate might begin with a caveat that the system has been adjusted at the factory for optimum comfort, so don't touch the dials."

  4. It's largely based upon the average temperature around the planet based, say for the past 50-100 years.  Which is declared average.  And if that information says that the temperature is rising, then oh boy.

  5. Because when the dinosaurs were here it was warmer than it is now and we can't risk them coming back. Didn't you see Jurassic Park?

  6. Because the consensus said the politically correct global mean temperature is 58F!

Look out for the climate refugee zombies. They are on the way.

  7. I look forward to how the professional warmers answer this question.

Since temperature changes from morning to night, 10° F to 30° F

Example: Today: Denver, US - 31, Santa Rosa, Argintina - 22, Belfast, UK - 10

A few degrees warmer or colder overall could not possibly make a difference.

  8. A most excellent question!

The perfectly demonstrates the absurdity of the global warming claim.

  9. Correct temperature?  That doesn't make much sense.  How could a temperature be correct?  We do know what temperatures support human life, and which don't.

  10. They pretend that it was better when it was a little bit cooler and that any warming will be catastophic.  They really reveal their bias when they suggest that and alarmist invariably do.  Global warming would not exist as a political movement without exaggerated consequences.

  11. The Earth has been so many different temperatures.  It is kind of silly to think we know what it 'should' be.  I get the point of your question and understand what you mean.  No one really knows what it 'should' be or what the 'correct' temperature is.

  12. There is no correct temperature, but a valid question might be what global mean temperature range would be most economically favorable for humans on Earth.  The answer to that is that we don't want it to vary much from what we've developed our infrastructure (and agriculture) for.  If the Earth were to warm, by say 5 C, it was cause us vast hardships and trillions of dollars--that's the point.

We could live comfortably a few degrees warmer or colder, but not with the society as we've built it.

  13. All of this baloney about Global Warming fails to take note that our Earth was even hotter during the Middle Ages and human beings survived!

Is a warmer temperature the norm and a cooler temperature abnormal??   When glaciers in Europe melt there is evidence uncovered that human beings actually lived where the ice is - is a warmer temperature normal?

Since Earth has had hundreds of thousands of "Global Warming cycles in our past, perhaps even millions - why is this one supposed to be caused by humans?

    Hmmm!
