Why does marijuana effect some peoples memory?

Question

i have been a marijuana user for at least for years, and at least 3 times per week. I dont belive it has affected me. my memory seems just as good, and my grades in school are still highest honors. why do some of my friends seem like complete idiots now/? they even talk like they are stupid.

Almost everyday I got stoned on and off all day long.I had the same experience as you. I guess it just all depends on the person. I only stopped because of a disabling motercycle accident caused by alchohol and being ran off of the road by one of my now xwifes boytoys.

i honestly think people psyche them self out to a certain degree.. but ya it does kill brain cells and can do permanent damage.. but also you only smoke it 3 times per week too.. some people have that before lunch on monday.. but ya i'd say a lot is definately psychological still.. you're really strong in that area

It makes things hazy and fuzzy.  It probably affects each individual differently but it is best to stop before it becomes a habit and memory gets worse.  It certainly will NOT make you smarter to develop a marijuana habit.  It is difficult to judge your own mental acuity.  You might ask a trusted friend if you are becoming spacey lately.  You most likely are.
