Question:

Why does mascara make my eyelashes fall out?

I never use to bother with it because it seemed messy.

But i've been using it recently... and it makes the eyelashes hard, but when it comes to wiping it off... i find eyelashes falling off with it.

I suppose this is common right???

Just wondering.

The eyelash curlers don't help either.

  1. You're only noticing more eyelashes falling out because they're stuck together with mascara, so when you take it off at the end of the day it looks like many. In reality, the same amount of eyelashes fall out when you're not wearing mascara - they're just not stuck to your eye lid.

  2. Of course eyelashes fall out every day as does your hair. But you say that when you wipe off your mascara- you can actually see them coming off with it- in my experience that isn't common. I think the problem is that you're not removing the mascara properly. You should use a gentle oil based eye make up remover. the oil gently dissolves the mascara and it comes off easily- its much kinder to your lashes and will prevent them drying out too. Nivea and Simple do good ones. Good luck :)

  3. use a white mascara base before you apply the mascara , it protect your mascara and condition it.

  4. Very common. You lose eyelashes naturally, its if you notice major gaps then to stop using it. Its normal to see the odd eyelash on your makeup remover wipe as it is to see hairs on your hairbrush. mascara does solidify and clump the eyelashes together, even the ones ready to drop out.

  5. Using mascara now means you're paying more attention to your eyelashes. You're probably not losing any more than you were before, you're just noticing it more. Make sure you're taking your mascara off the right way too; make-up remover.

  6. Hmmm use a good quality mascara and if you already do then its fine. .then. . . .you can use a conditioning lash primer before applying mascara...Before going to bed make sure you take off the mascara but very gently, don't rub your lashes too hard and after that you can apply some nourishing oil to your lashes as an overnight treatment. . .you can use almond or olive or castor oil. .anyone of them. .but be very careful those oils Shouldnt get into your eyes:)

  7. some mascara's can do this, cheap "water-proof" mascara's can so this, try normal wash off mascara, this is much easier on your lashes, if you need a waterproof, use a good branded mascara, so as to condition ur eyelashes at the same time, not make them fall out :D

    ok..

  8. If you use waterproof mascara you must use a waterproof remover, this happens because your not removing it properly.

  9. dont use waterproof mascara.. its too heavy for ur eyelashes, and really hard to get off.. thats why ur lashes fall off.. i switched from waterproof to normal mascara, and my lashes dont fall off anymore..

  10. Thats why i never wear mascara. Doesn't really enhance a girls beauty that much. It is such an awful feeling seeing so many lashes come off daily. I also hate to rub my eye lid to get off the mascara. Rubbing causes   the bags that you so often see under women's eyes. Ditch the mascara.

  11. i have same prob i just ive with it n pray to good i dont lose em all lol XD
