  1. Is the rest of your intake and exhaust stock?  No aftermarket pipes, no power commander, no altered air filter?

  2. For future reference, always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.

Sometimes the year can make a difference.

Have the valves ever been adjusted?

    Have the carbs been synchronized?

    Is the air cleaner clean?

  3. If you have to keep the choke applied to keep it running,,,

what your are doing is having the Choke "donate fuel" and serve in lieu of fuel delivery from Idle Circuit of the carb.

Even though you may have "cleaned the carbs",,,it's obvious that it's Not getting the fuel it needs.

Do the carbs again, and make certain the entire idle circuit is clear.

Before going to that trouble,,,Check the things Jim suggested.

You also may want to try some cleaner additive.

Chose a full strength CLEANER,,,high concentration Naptha-based cleaner.

Let your bike Idle (as best as it can) with throttle closed for about an hour with the cleaner.

Put a Fan blowing on it to avoid overheating.

Ya MIGHT get lucky and avoid going back thru the carbs

    Good Luck

  4. Turn the idle s***w on the carb, usually it has a k**b you can turn.
