Why does mick jager of the rolling stones sound so bad live compared to his voice on like the radio?

I have and always been a rolling stones fan but i went to a few of there concerts and he doesn't sound hardly anything like he does on the radio or mtv.most people. I listen to and be en to many concerts and for the most part usually most of them sound the same.

  1. Hello love, BOY<we have the same taste in music!!! Well the reason why Mick, sounds bad is because he really can't sing.... When you are in a studio they have equipment that can actually mix your voice so that it sounds really good...I know this personally because I used to sing professionally...I miss the sounds of yester-years, Duran Duran, Sting, Journey.... That was great singing....See ya!!! Zaria

  2. The songs you hear on the radio were mostly recorded 30 - 40 years ago. It's not surprising that his voice has changed some since then.

  3. because he did drugs his whole life and he isn't as young as he used to be.  When something is produced in a studio it can come out perfect vs. sounding good live.

  4. It's amazing what they can do in a recording studio to not only the voice, but instruments as well.

There is a way to make the voice sound like it has perfect pitch which has been used on many recording artists. I have heard "raw" audio recordings of some top vocalists and it would make your head spin - what they REALLY sound like. They can even use this device during live performances with a very slight delay (part of a second) in what you hear. I have found that there are quite a few that use it, especially when they are dancing and jumping all over the place. It's hard to keep your voice steady and on pitch when you are moving all over the place.

You might be able to find some examples on that one video site we all like to puruse...YT.

  5. Its not just him, its every singer. There is all kinds of tricks in the studio....especially layering

  6. Have to sing loud at concerts, but on radio the audio is adjusted so no need to shout.

  7. Due to all of the different technologies used in a studio.

  8. Ha! That is a fact.

  9. The songs you hear on the radio are like from the mid 1960's & he is over 60 years old.  When you go to a Rolling Stones concert today, you go just because it's the Stones, probably the greatest rock-n-roll band of any era, not to criticize his voice.  All the older bands don't sounds like their songs on radio because they are aging rock stars.
