That's lactose intolerance. You can get lactase pills over the counter that will metabolize the lactose before it reaches your intestine.

The other answers may be correct.  But it also has to do with the sugars in milk.  You have flora in your intestines and if they are healthy they will utilize the sugar giving off gas.

It shouldn't.  It sounds like you are lactose intolerant.  There's a special type of milk for that condition or you can take an over the counter medication.
