  1. Each plant creates a unique rhizosphere (the microbes that exist in the area surround the roots) through the different chemical and nutrient exuded by the roots.  So, a monoculture will support only a select few microbes and overtime these will dominate the soil environment.  Often times this will create a positive feedback loop that further supports the monoculture and suppresses other species of plants.

This is a serious problem with many invasive plant species.  They alter the soil community, reduce biodiversity and, dominate as a monoculture, and alter the whole ecosystem.  This also leads into the topic of alleleopathy, which is when certain plants release chemicals that are toxic to other plants.

There are many ways that a monoculture can suppress the soil community.  I have only outlined a few.

  2. In forestry, monoculture refers to the planting of one species of tree crop instead of encouraging a diverse canopy of trees. A diverse forest stimulates biodiversity by providing suitable habitat for different species.

More over for some parasites they require same consecutive hosts for there survival if that is provided with ease by us nothing will remain.....
