  1. Two reasons, during the summer many people take vacations, those 9 weeks the traffic is reduced because a percentage of the people are on vacation.

Additionally all the of the High School Students and College Students that commute into Boston are out of school during the summer months. There are 98 colleges/universities within 50 miles of the Boston zip code.

  2. It could be because school is starting.

It could also be that people move to or visit Boston for the fall because it's so beautiful!

  3. its not just you. the entire u.s goes through this because kids go back to school and parents go to work. I know how u feel!

  4. Houston same thing every year.

  5. The population in greater boston literally _doubles_ after labor day as a result of all the colleges being in session. Throw an extra 700,000 people in an area that small and things are bound to get a little tighter.
