Why does moving air like wind and air from an air conditioner feel colder that non-moving air?

Why does moving air feel cooler that still air????

  1. It moves the air heated by your body away from you, so the air next to your body is cooler.  It also increases the rate of evaporation of moisture or perspiration on your skin.  That's the enthalpy of vaporization.
